Enjoy display gardens at the Arkansas Flower and Garden Show.

It's that time of year again when the public can learn about the latest in flowers and gardening, straight from the experts.

Arkansas Flower and Garden Show, with a theme of Homegrown Goodness, is going on from Friday (Feb. 22) through Sunday (Feb. 24) at Statehouse Convention Center, Markham and Main streets, Little Rock.

Events include the new addition Homegrown Entertaining with guest speaker landscape designer Chris Olsen (6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Friday). Tickets for the show are $40. You can buy here.

Also, Arkansas' own P. Allen Smith will make an appearance 1 p.m. Saturday, educational gardening seminars and how-to presentations, over 100 booths with garden-related items for sale, indoor display gardens, a silent auction, a juried flower show, professional florist tabletop competition, kids' activities and a silent auction benefiting scholarship and community beautification grant programs.

Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for those ages 50 and over; children 11 and under get in free.

Free parking is available at Dickey-Stephens Park, 400 W. Broadway, North Little Rock; a shuttle ($1 round trip) will take visitors to the Statehouse Convention Center.
