Little Rock's Rock Town Distillery, the first "legal" distillery in Arkansas since prohibition, has won a major award for its Arkansas Young Bourbon Whiskey.

The 2013 World Whiskies Awards took place in London last week, where more than 300 whiskies battled it out during three intensive blind tasting rounds, for the coveted title of "2013 World's Best Whiskies."

The distillery's whiskey was the winner of the Bourbon American Whiskey No Age Statement sub-category in the competition.

The Arkansas Young Bourbon Whiskey is a premium small batch of bourbon distilled, aged and bottled at its distillery right in the capital city. The corn and wheat comes from Arkansas farmers and the bourbon ages in small, new charred oak barrels for a rich and complex flavor.

Judges for "Whisky Magazine"’s independent editorial panel were drawn from the best drinks journalists and retailers across the world, with industry representatives made up of master blenders, distillers and brand ambassadors in the final round.
