Breweries are popping up all over the state, from Fayetteville to Little Rock.

Now, add Hot Springs to that list.

The Superior Bathhouse Brewery and Distillery, 329 Central Ave., Hot Springs, is a new craft microbrewery and restaurant located on Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs National Park.

And while it's not in full operation yet, a tasting room on site is now open, along with a restaurant, according the travel blog of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. The craft beer tasting room is located in the lobby of the historic bathhouse with a custom-built beer tap that has 18 taps. The restaurant offers pub fare and beer-pairing options.

The featured beers are those unique in Arkansas and ones that highlight regional breweries like the Lazy Magnolia in Mississippi and Core Brewing in Springdale.

The owners are opening the project in phases. It looks like they will soon make their own brew on site using thermal spring water, more than likely this fall, according to the post on the travel blog. When it is, it will be the world’s first brewery or distillery to use thermal spring water as the main ingredient.
