This week, our favorite pic is from Saturday (Sept. 28): South on Main's grand opening hosted by co-owners Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen!
Last weekend, I was invited to make a stop at the restaurant's big grand opening and of course, I couldn't say no!
The big party started at around 6 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 28). Upon my arrival, I sipped on complimentary Freixenet Brut champagne cocktails and was greeted around the restaurant by waiters offering yummy hors d'oeuvres. I got to try a chicken biscuit, a rabbit loin wrapped in bacon, jalepeno filled with pimento cheese, as well as drum fish salad on sliced baguette bread, plus plenty of other goodies.
Danson and Steenburgen arrived to the party around 6:45 p.m. and live music from the John Burnett Band got started around 7:30 p.m.
As it turns out, South on Main is co-owned by Academy-Award winner, Steenburgen, her husband, Emmy-Award winner, Danson, Chef Matthew Bell and his wife Amy Kelley Bell. The interiors of South on Main were designed by Kelley Bell and Steenburgen, who is one of the owners of Rooms and Gardens, a Santa Monica, Calif.- based interior design store and business. I had no idea!
Check out my review awhile back if you haven't already and get more information about the restaurant here. We're also excited about the music venue's new free music series Local Live, which will have its second show tonight!
