Jessica Kersey of Finishing Touch Event Design helped the bride dream up the décor, and Distinctive Designs by Tanarah brought the floral part of that dream to life.

Kaylen Suzanne Revels of DeQueen and Patrick Glover Lewis of Little Rock were recently married in Little Rock. The couple now lives in North Little Rock.

  • Wedding date: July 23, 2011
  • Number of guests: 300
  • Ceremony venue: Covenant Presbyterian Church
  • Reception venue: Grand Ballroom in the Clinton Presidential Library

What was your overall inspiration? I have known forever that I wanted to wear my mother’s wedding dress at my wedding reception, and I think that helped inspire me with the vintage theme. And one of the first decisions Patrick and I made was to use vintage lace table runners we found on Etsy on all of our tables at the reception, and I feel like it all developed around that. I chose to use navy for my bridesmaid dresses and sprinkled throughout the rest of the wedding because I felt like it was the perfect backdrop for the gold, champagne and ivory color story. We also wanted a lot of candlelight at our reception. The candle wall that Tanarah created lining the shelves of the ballroom, incorporated with the gold candelabras on the tables gave the entire a room a perfect warm and glowing feel.

What were the interesting personal touches and unique details? Patrick went to the University of Alabama and I went to the University of Arkansas, so we used the shakers for each team for our get away, and that was really fun, and totally our style! We truly have a house divided. We wanted to serve our favorite foods, and it was a big hit with the guests. We also used wine bottles as our guest book at the reception. We are going to open a bottle on our anniversaries!

What one detail truly made the wedding yours? If I had to pick one detail about the wedding, it would really be more of a feeling. We knew from the beginning of planning that we wanted to have a very special, intimate ceremony, but after the ceremony was over we wanted to have a huge celebration with our closest family and friends.

How did you customize your wedding? We were married in the church where Patrick grew up, and his uncle married us. The Covenant Presbyterian Choir sang as the parents and grandparents were seated and during the recessional.

How did you save money? By hiring Jessica Kersey with Finishing Touch Event Design! She helped keep us on budget and helped me look at different options with different prices. I know a lot of brides do not want to include a wedding planner in their budget, but trust me having a planner is so worth it!

Tell us a little bit more about the day. Jessica and the Clinton Library set up a little private dinner for Patrick and me before we went to the reception. We were able to eat the amazing food from Café 42 and steal a moment alone. It was so special, and we truly enjoyed those few moments alone together!
