We asked a few Little Rock teachers to expose some of the bad behavior they experience throughout the school year. They eagerly dished about the things that bother them the most -- frequent absences, disrespect, sleep deprivation and cheating. However, they weren’t talking about their students; they were talking about you, parents! Some are major mom and dad faux pas and others are simple suggestions, but all are important lessons teachers want you to learn.
Bring your child to school – on time! - 'In the school day, every minute is vital!' said Vandy Nash, a fourth-grade teacher in the North Little Rock School District who was recently named Arkansas Teacher of the Year. 'When a student is late, they miss valuable teaching time that is hard to make up.' Research shows consistent tardiness and repeated absences hinder the students’ learning progress and negatively impact grades.
