It's miserably cold, so luckily there's plenty to do indoors this weekend.
For starters, head to the Jump Zone in Conway or North Little Rock on from 5-8 p.m. Friday night. At the North Little Rock location, admission is only $5 per child (parents are always free). Or you can enjoy a Family Fun Pack for $26 that includes admission for two children, a pizza and a 2-liter bottle of soda. Admission is $8 per child at the Conway location.
Next up, a Family Fun Day at D1 Sports Training Center. Sponsored by Autism Speaks, this free event from 1 – 3 p.m. will feature several "training" and game stations that children can enjoy. It's a great way to burn off some energy in a warm, indoor space.
Sunday is "Pay What You Can" day at the Museum of Discovery in the River Market. From 1 – 4 p.m., families can enjoy all the hands-on exhibits and activities. Current exhibits include Backyard Science and Artifact Showcase.
All weekend long, car fanatics can check out an "indoor parade of everything automotive" at the Auto Extravaganza at the Statehouse Convention Center. Hours are 4 – 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 at the door. Children under 6 get in free.
Don't forget the World of the Pharaohs exhibit at the Arkansas Arts Center. My 9-year-old went over the holidays and really enjoyed it. Plus, they have a very cool Pharaoh-related gift shop adjacent to the exhibit where we scored mood rings for only $3. Admission to the exhibit is $14 for kids 6 – 12 and $22 for adults.
If you find it too cold to even think about leaving your house, check out these great DIY art projects from art teacher Cici Davidson, owner of Cici's ArtShop.
Or you could always just let your kids do this all weekend long.
