It's another fine weekend in central Arkansas, and here are out best bets for family fun.

The Children's Theatre at the Arkansas Arts Center is bringing yet another classic tale to life with its staging of "Little Women" from Jan. 22 - Feb. 7. It's the familiar story of the March sisters, who learn to rely on each other for strength and happiness when their father goes off to war and their finances take a turn for the worse. I'm just hoping Beth doesn't die in this version. My heart can't take it. Performances are 7 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $14 for adults, $11 children and $10 each in groups of 10 or more. For info: (501) 372-4000.

The Museum of Discovery is hosting one of its most popular programs this weekend, Cold Blooded Creatures. It's a great way to get up close and personal with the slithering residents of the museum. Program times are 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m., 1 p.m.and 3 p.m. Saturday. Programs are free with regular admission. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for children 1-12, $6 for seniors over 65 and free for children under one. You can read more about the program here.

Here's a cool art project: Navajo Sand Painting. For $10, children and adults can learn more about this art form from 10 a.m.-noon this weekend at Toltec Archeological State Park. Reservations are required. Call (501) 961-9442 for more info.

Looking for a new school for your elementary, middle or high school student? Now's the time to start attending open houses. We'll give you a full roundup of dates and times tomorrow. But mark your calendars now for this one: Episcopal Collegiate School is having an open house from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24. RSVP to (501) 372-1194.

And finally, tickets for "STOMP" went on sale this weekend. The Off-Broadway smash hit is coming to Robinson Center Music Hall Feb. 16-18. We're partnering with Celebrity Attractions for a pre-show event on Feb. 16 called "STOMPing Grounds." Kids can meet  and make music with cast members starting at 6 p.m. Pre-show passes are available by purchasing the Tuesday night Family 4-Pack of tickets. To do so,  call Celebrity Attractions at (501) 244-8800 and give them the code word FAMILY.
