    Join park interpreters Margi and Waymon for the inaugural America’s State Parks First Day Hike. The rest of the park and the diamond search area are closed to observe New Years Day; however, hikers can meet at the River Trail trailhead in the campground and spend an hour walking the 1.2-mile trail.

    The first half of the trail is ADA compliant with a flat paved surface. Waymon and Margi will be pointing out interesting natural and historical features along the route.

    Margi will continue on the unpaved part of the trail, while Waymon will return to the campground on the paved trail.

    Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
