    As teenage boys growing up on the tough inner-city streets of Newark, N.J., Davis, Hunt and Jenkins made a pact: They would stick together, go to college, graduate and become doctors.

    In accomplishing their goal, they have gone on to write books and start a foundation to share their stories and inspire others to overcome life’s challenges. Together they have written three books about their lives, "The Pact" for adults, "We Beat the Streets," for children and "The Bond," about fatherhood.
