The Little Rock Racial and Cultural Diversity Commission will host its annual Black History Month program; this year will celebrate the contributions that African-American Arkansans have made to the field of aviation.
The program will include a posthumous tribute to recognize Mr. Cornelius Robinson Coffey, an Arkansas native, who was the first African-American to establish an aeronautical school in the United States.
The keynote speaker will be Rufus A. Hunt, Jr., a retired commercial pilot and aviation historian who authored many aviation subject articles including a book about Cornelius Robinson Coffey, The Coffey Intersection.
