Description: Built in 1836, the Old State House is the oldest standing capitol building west of the Mississippi River. It served as the Arkansas Capitol until 1911 and is a National Historic Landmark. The museum has six period rooms, exhibits highlighting Arkansas' first families and the building's architecture, and two legislative chambers. Admission is free. Open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
