  • For many years, this upscale restaurant has served inspired food with a continental flair in a contemporary atmosphere. Our favorite entrée is the hot smoked king salmon, which is served with a smoked cheddar grit cake and grilled tomato and cucumber corn relish. Full bar and extensive wine selection.
  • Acadia Restaurant

  • Our dinners on Acadia's three-tiered patio always last late into the evening, and not just because it's so relaxing sitting underneath the big oak tree and looking out over downtown Hillcrest. The attentive staff makes sure glasses never go dry, and Chef James Hale, who began his culinary career in New Orleans, is genius. Our orange roughy was oh-so-good, and like icing on the cake, was part of the prix fixe, three-course meal Acadia offers on Mondays and Tuesdays.

  • Just across the river in the Argenta district is one of our new favorite lunch and grocery spots. Argenta Market specializes in fresh, local produce, as well as locally-produced food products like War Eagle Mill grains and flours and local dairy products. They also carry Boulevard Bread products, have cases of prepared, ready-to-go foods and serve delicious lunches. Their lunch specials vary from day to day, so check their website to find out the specials on any given day. Monday might bring red snapper fish tacos, Tuesday a southwest turkey sandwich and Wednesday a house-made corn dog. We stopped in on a Tuesday, and were pleased to find the special was a salmon burger, which featured a seasoned salmon patty served on a jalapeno roll with pesto may and spring mix. Crunchy house-made potato chips accompanied our sandwich, which was one of the best we've ever had. Thinking about it makes our mouths water!

Choose from a list of more than 700 wines and pair your selection with the lobster cassoulet with white cannelloni beans, pork belly and a Maine lobster tail.

  • We could seriously eat breakfast for every meal of the day. So you can imagine our excitement when we found out Nancy Tesmer of Lilly's Dim Sum, Then Some was turning their party room into a breakfast room. And in typical Lilly's fashion, it's not your run-of-the-mill fare. Sure, they've got pancakes and waffles, biscuits and gravy. But they also serve entrées like smoked gouda grits, huevos rancheros and our personal favorite, biscuit mountain, buttermilk biscuits topped with sausage, Pommes Rosti, house-made sausage gravy and two pan-fried eggs. Their brunch menu includes classics like a BLT, and more original items like figgy piggy, fig glazed pork tenderloin with sweet potato hash. It's our new go-to for weekend breakfast and brunch.
  • Big Whiskey's

  • Located in the heart of downtown Little Rock, Big Whiskey's offers a casual and pub-like dining atmosphere. From salads and sandwiches, to steaks and burgers, to their colossal baked potatoes and spicy wings, Big Whiskey's has it all. Try out the zesty guacamole chicken sandwich. Light diners can't miss the "strawberry hill" salad. Stop by on Sundays for 35 cents wings.
  • Blue Coast Burrito

  • 4613 McCain, North Little Rock, AR 72117     Map it >

  • Our first visit was on a whim. They had us with the fish tacos, and we never looked back. Burritos, tacos, salads, fresh salsas (the pineapple is our favorite) and wonderful service turned us into regulars.
  • Bonefish Grill

       (501) 228-0356
  • 11525 Cantrell Road, Little Rock, AR 72212     Map it >

  • Bonefish is crowded most nights and reservations are offered, but if you arenÂ't in a hurry, have a cocktail. We think itÂ's a great bar; try the too trendy, very tasty pomegranate martini or the uber-delicious chocolate martini. For dinner, we love the ahi tuna topped with warm mango salsa.
  • Boscos Restaurant & Brewing Company

       (501) 907-1881
  • 500 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock, AR 72201     Map it >

  • Brunch doesnÂ't get much better than at Boscos on Sunday with eggs, steak or oyster benedict. The andouille and chicken hash is delicious and filling, and the shrimp and grits put a Southern smile on our faces. If youÂ're craving a good beer, try The Flaming Stone Ale, among other fine craft brews.

  • The bread! The pastries! Don't even think of visiting if you can't resist these items. On the other hand, there are great cheeses, side dishes and entrees. We have the caprese sandwich with fruit at least twice a week.
