Shelly Hogan Koehler

Area of Practice: White Collar Criminal Defense

Shelly Koehler has more courtroom experience in the four years she's been practicing law than many attorneys acquire over the course of their career. Always fighting for her clients' rights, Koehler's trial experience encompasses everything from drug possession cases in state court to tax evasion and mail fraud cases in federal court. She has also argued before the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and the Arkansas Supreme Court. Koehler credits her success as a criminal defense attorney to the mentoring she's received from other attorneys. "I was fortunate to clerk for Bill James while in law school and he allowed me to participate in trials from the very beginning. That experience was invaluable," Koehler says. After law school, Koehler joined forces with one of Arkansas' best known white collar criminal defense attorneys, Sam Perroni. "White collar cases are unique. They definitely aren't your run-of-the-mill criminal cases. Sam taught me what it takes to be a white collar defense attorney. I absolutely learned from one of the best." Koehler worked with Perroni at Perroni & Koehler until she moved to Fayetteville in July. Koehler is wrapping up cases in Little Rock and hopes to join a Northwest Arkansas firm.
