Katherine's eight year-old daughter, Lydia Elliott, wrote her first contract at age four. After all, Lydia Elliott began coming to work with Katherine when she was five days old. "I couldn't imagine working full time and being a part time mom or, for that matter, being a part time me. I was determined to create an environment where I could be an advocate for my clients and a pit bull of an attorney - while wearing blue jeans, spending time with my child, and volunteering in the community," she said. Recently divorced, Katherine knows first-hand how crucial it is to have an attorney who has your back and has empathy for the myriad of emotions and pain that come with divorce. She is fortunate that her co-workers, paralegal Laurie Cauley, legal assistant Whitney Harness, and associate attorney, Scott Strain, also sincerely care about the firm's clients and give 150% to each case. "Don't let the relaxed family atmosphere that you may encounter at our office fool you," Katherine says with a laugh. "Everyone here is completely invested in our clients - and we work hard." The boutique law firm takes a limited number of cases meaning clients receive a lot of 'hand holding' and personal attention. Katherine is not an advocate of divorce. "Divorce is painful and should not be a first option when things get tough. When possible, go to counseling or see a life coach. If you can't repair the marriage, come see me." She encourages settlement of cases so the clients control the outcome as much as possible, but if settlement doesn't happen, she is ready to fight it out in the courtroom. Katherine is a certified health coach, life coach and enjoys working with clients to reach their health, life, and relationship goals. When not working, Katherine and Lydia Elliott often go to The Little Rock Animal Village to walk the dogs and scout out the next office foster dog. Not surprisingly, Katherine left with the "puganese" she's holding in her photograph.
